قال أمين عام الاتحاد اليمني لكرة القدم الدكتور حميد شيباني إن المنتخب الوطني الأولمبي سيلعب ثلاث مباريات ودية خلال ديسمبر الجاري استعدادا للمشاركة في نهائيات كأس آسيا للمنتخبات تحت 23 عاما، المقرر إقامتها خلال يناير القادم في قطر.

وأوضح الدكتور شيباني إن المنتخب الأولمبي سيلعب مبارياته الثلاث في العاصمة القطرية الدوحة التي يخوض فيها حاليا معسكرا إعداديا طويلا حيث يبدأ أولى مبارياته الودية بمواجهة نظيره الياباني في 10 ديسمبر الجاري يليها مقابلة منتخب أفغانستان في يوم 17، قبل أن يواجه منتخب قطر الأولمبي في الـ30 من الشهر ذاته.

وأكد حرص الاتحاد العام لكرة القدم على إعداد المنتخب الأولمبي الذي يقوده المدرب الوطني أمين السنيني، للوصول إلى الجاهزية المطلوبة قبل خوض غمار منافسات نهائيات كأس آسيا حيث يشارك اليمن ضمن المجموعة الرابعة في مواجهة منتخبات كوريا الجنوبية، أوزباكستان ، والعراق.

وأضاف الدكتور شيباني " نقدم ما بوسعنا لإعداد المنتخب للنهائيات بغية مشاركة المنافسة على إحدى بطاقتي التأهل عن المجموعة للدور الثاني، وحرصنا في الاتحاد على أن يخوض المنتخب الأولمبي معسكرا خارجيا طويلا في قطر وهذا ما حدث منذ شهر سبتمبر الماضي وتخلل ذلك المشاركة في بطولة غرب آسيا التي حل فيها اليمن رابعا".

يذكر أن المنتخبات الثلاثة الأولى في نهائيات كأس آسيا للمنتخبات تحت 23 عاما ستتأهل إلى مسابقة كرة القدم في دورة الألعاب الأولمبية التي ستقام في ريو دي جانيرو البرازيلية صيف العام المقبل 2016.
